Our Fourth of July festivities always spark excitement among our community. Here at The Governor’s Land at Two Rivers, our community enjoyed numerous events and celebrations for the Fourth of July, as part of our favorite summer traditions. From the much-anticipated fireworks finale to picnics to inflatables to the golf tournament, our annual activities bring the Governor’s Land community together in celebration every year.
All-American Activities
Our Tom Fazio-designed championship golf course is home to our member-only Firecracker Open, the annual Fourth of July golf tournament. Nothing says independence like golf, all on our top-rated course in Williamsburg, VA.
Our Independence Day Parade began on Founders’ Way and decorated The Governor’s Land at Two Rivers with flags and festive glee. All that freedom-filled activity worked up an appetite for the community, so they fueled up at the Osprey Bar & Grille for lunch — with carry-out and pool service options.
Park West Lawn was decorated with numerous family-friendly activities. To the spirited set of DJ Eric, our younger patrons received patriotic face paint, and red, white, and blue balloon creations. Then, bounced the day away on Independence Day-themed inflatables.
Our Fourth of July Picnic served up special selections for the community to enjoy alongside live music performed by our musical guest, Soul Intent.
To top off the day, our fireworks extravaganza lit up the sky, visible from land or marina water, in an explosive grand finale to our Fourth of July festivities. Some members sailed the Chickahominy River for a stellar view of the fireworks, while others stuck to the land and enjoyed the show from the comfort of the country club.
